# Connect your AI app

> Step by step for Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, VS Code, Claude Code and Codex, and any other app that supports MCP.

Every app connects to the same address, then sends you to Oppin to approve access:

```text theme={null}
https://api.oppin.ai/mcp
```

When you approve, you choose the organization. Members with view-only access connect read-only. In Oppin, the **MCP** tab of the **Data & MCP** page walks you through the same steps: click **Connect Oppin** and pick your app.

| App | How you add it |
| :- | :- |
| [Claude](#claude) | One click (**Add to Claude**) |
| [ChatGPT](#chatgpt) | Paste the address |
| [Cursor](#cursor) | One click (**Add to Cursor**) |
| [VS Code](#vs-code) | One click (**Add to VS Code**) |
| [Claude Code](#claude-code) | One command in your terminal |
| [Codex](#codex) | One command in your terminal |
| [Any other app](#any-other-app) | Paste the address |

## Chat apps

### Claude

*Every Claude plan, on the web and in the desktop app. The free plan allows one custom connector.*

1. Click **Add to Claude**. Claude opens with Oppin already filled in.

   [**Add to Claude**](https://claude.ai/customize/connectors?modal=add-custom-connector\&connectorName=Oppin\&connectorUrl=https%3A%2F%2Fapi.oppin.ai%2Fmcp)
2. In Claude, click **Add**, then **Connect**.
3. In Oppin, pick the organization and click **Connect**.
4. In any chat, turn on Oppin from the tools menu.

On a Team or Enterprise plan, an owner [adds Oppin for everyone](https://claude.ai/admin-settings/connectors?modal=add-custom-connector\&connectorName=Oppin\&connectorUrl=https%3A%2F%2Fapi.oppin.ai%2Fmcp), then each person clicks **Connect**.

To add it by hand: open **Customize**, then **Connectors**, click **Add custom connector** and paste `https://api.oppin.ai/mcp`.

### ChatGPT

*Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise and Edu plans. Set it up on chatgpt.com, not in the Mac app.*

1. On chatgpt.com, open **Settings** and turn on **Developer mode**.
2. Create a new app named **Oppin**, paste this address, and choose **OAuth** for authentication.

   ```text wrap theme={null}
   https://api.oppin.ai/mcp
   ```
3. Click **Connect**. In Oppin, pick the organization and click **Connect**.
4. In a chat, pick Oppin from the tools menu before you ask.

Don't see **Developer mode**? On Business, Enterprise and Edu accounts, a workspace admin has to turn it on first.

Deep research can only read from Oppin. To change your tracking, use a regular chat.

## Coding tools

### Cursor

*Cursor Pro plans and up.*

1. Click **Add to Cursor** and confirm in Cursor.

   [**Add to Cursor**](cursor://anysphere.cursor-deeplink/mcp/install?name=oppin\&config=eyJ1cmwiOiJodHRwczovL2FwaS5vcHBpbi5haS9tY3AifQ%3D%3D)
2. In Cursor's **Tools & MCP** settings, sign in to Oppin when it asks. Your browser opens Oppin.
3. In Oppin, pick the organization and click **Connect**.

To add it by hand: in **Tools & MCP**, click **New MCP Server** and add `https://api.oppin.ai/mcp` as the server's `url`.

### VS Code

*Any GitHub Copilot plan, in agent mode. On Copilot Business and Enterprise, an admin has to allow MCP servers first.*

1. Click **Add to VS Code** and click **Install** in VS Code.

   [**Add to VS Code**](vscode:mcp/install?%7B%22name%22%3A%22oppin%22%2C%22type%22%3A%22http%22%2C%22url%22%3A%22https%3A%2F%2Fapi.oppin.ai%2Fmcp%22%7D)
2. The first time Copilot uses Oppin, your browser opens Oppin to sign in.
3. In Oppin, pick the organization and click **Connect**.

To add it by hand: run **MCP: Add Server** from the Command Palette, choose **HTTP** and paste `https://api.oppin.ai/mcp`.

### Claude Code

*Anyone using Claude Code in the terminal or an IDE.*

1. Run this in your terminal:

   ```text wrap theme={null}
   claude mcp add --transport http --scope user oppin https://api.oppin.ai/mcp
   ```
2. Start Claude Code, type `/mcp`, pick **oppin** and sign in. Your browser opens Oppin.
3. In Oppin, pick the organization and click **Connect**.

`--scope user` makes Oppin available in every project. Leave it out to add it to the current project only.

### Codex

*The Codex CLI and IDE extension, with a paid ChatGPT plan or an OpenAI API key.*

1. Run this in your terminal:

   ```text wrap theme={null}
   codex mcp add oppin --url https://api.oppin.ai/mcp
   ```
2. Then sign in. Your browser opens Oppin.

   ```text wrap theme={null}
   codex mcp login oppin
   ```
3. In Oppin, pick the organization and click **Connect**.

The IDE extension shares this setup, so Oppin shows up there too.

## Any other app

*Any app that supports remote MCP servers, for example Perplexity, Mistral Le Chat, Zed, Gemini CLI or Copilot Studio.*

1. Add a custom connector (some apps call it an MCP server) and paste this address:

   ```text wrap theme={null}
   https://api.oppin.ai/mcp
   ```
2. If the app asks how to sign in, choose **OAuth**. In Oppin, pick the organization and click **Connect**.

An app that cannot sign in this way can use an [API key](https://docs.oppin.ai/api.md#get-a-key) instead, sent as a bearer token. Organization admins create keys.
